Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to my (long overdue) automotive blog!
So, do we need another car blog to ad to the countless number of internet sites on the topic? There are already plenty of good automotive blogs out there that are dedicated night and day to all things industry related and enthusiast minded. Not to mention the long-standing publications and research oriented forums of well informed car owners and prospects. But in short, I'm not sure the world needs another car blog, but perhaps, I do. After all, cars and car-related banter have been my number-one passion since I was barely out of diapers, so I figure its time to jot down my own thoughts on the matter.
When you grow up religiously reading Car & Driver magazine, watching Motor Week on PBS, and collecting all the automotive brochures you can get your hands on, the makings of an obsession and lifelong hobby are well established. Couple that "research" with the substantive action a child might do (i.e. collect Hot Wheels, build models, and memorize engine and performance stats), and you might even start dreaming that maybe there's a niche for you in the industry!
However, sometimes as life goes on you may find yourself getting sidetracked from your original passion for other opportunities and responsibilities. The thing is, the passion doesn't die, it just lies dormant until you re-ignite it.
Fast forward to 2017. With the proverbial pilot light still on, and some healthy pushing and prodding from those closest to me, here we finally are!
The intent here at 9 and 3 is to provide my own take on what's interesting and/or notable about what's going in cars, car culture, and related industry news today. It is also just a fun pastime for me to try and do, so as a reader, try not to take it too seriously (even when it sounds like yours truly is.) I'm not a mechanic, journalist, engineer, and way out of practice when it comes to writing. Qualified on the subject? Hardly. Consider me simply as a fan, and this an extension of a hobby. Like food, literature, movies and practically everything else in our world, everyone has different tastes and levels of interest on a variety of subjects; cars are no different. I sincerely hope that you might occasionally find my musings interesting enough to read or comment on. Either way, thank you for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the ride, wherever it takes us!
